Game support environment for Windows
DirectX 9 is a collection for APIs to support game rendering and multimedia handling in the Windows environment. It includes many libraries and software to support high-quality 2D & 3D graphics.

1. DirectX 12 for PC Windows (7/10/8), 32/64-bits launched by Microsoft specifically auto-installed for Windows 10 very effectively controls the games which are played on PC and Xbox. Microsoft has revolutionized the gaming section by introducing the new technology namely “Variable Rate Shading” in DirectX 12.
2. Therefore after you’ve installed DirectX 9 on your Windows 8 or Windows 10 computer, you need to enable Direct Play as follows: Press Windows key and R. Type in appwiz.cpl and press enter. Check if the Programs and features part of the Control Panel has opened. On the left, click on Turn Windows features on or off.
3. If there are any system restore points before you encounter the errors with DirectX, you can use the System Restore Point feature. Press Win + R keys to open the Run box, and then type the rstruiexe command in the box and hit Enter. Inside the System Restore window, click the Next button to continue.

Direct3D 12 version 1703 – With the Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703), released on April 11, 2017, the Direct3D 12 runtime has been updated to support Shader Model 6.0 and DXIL. And Shader Model 6.0 requires Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1607), WDDM 2.1. New graphical features are Depth Bounds Testing and Programmable MSAA.
